Here is a short day tour of these places.How to Reach From the capital city of India New Delhi,you can reach Agra via Taj Express Highway or Yamuna Express way.The distance here is 233.1Km.This is the shortest route to reach Agra from New Delhi by road where it is around 4 hours journey.Reserved cab fare for this trip is around Rs 2500.Other than private cars, there are also train and bus services.By train it will take around 2 hours to reach Agra from Delhi.Train fare is around Rs 150 per head.Bus fare is around Rs. 400 per head.The World Heritage Places to Visit in Agra Taj Mahal It is one of the most visited tourist attractions of India.Car parking space of Taj Mahal is 1 Km ahead of the main mausoleum.From there ample options are available to reach the main building.There are battery operated cars, buses, local horse carts or rickshaws by which you cango to the adjacent ticket counter of the Taj Mahal.The bus fare is Rs 10 per person and the battery operated car fare is Rs20 per person.The entry fee to Taj Mahal is Rs 50 for Indian tourists, Rs 110 for foreigners.If you want to visit the main mausoleum, then you have to pay one additional charge of Rs 200which is optional.Children up to 15 years require no entry fee.Taj Mahal is a complex of beautiful Mughal era buildings.The main building of this complex is the famous ivory-white marble Mausoleum which was built in the loving memory of Mumtaz Mahal by her husband the 5th Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan to house her tomb.Now this is a UNESCO world heritage site as well as a winner of the new 7 wonders of the world.In a year, Taj Mahal experiences 7-8 million visitors from all over the globe.It is mandatory to purchase disposable shoe cover charged Rs20 per pair, if you are visiting the main mausoleum.Entering through the main gate you will be exposed to a long stone-path passing through the beautiful garden of the complex.In the middle of the path, there is a beautiful water fountain.On a public holiday the place becomes over crowded.You may see huge number of people roaming here and there and taking selfy.The view of the Yamuna River from the back of the basement of the main mausoleum needsa special mention.Agra Fort can also be seen from here.Next go to visit Agra Fort.This is another UNESCO world heritage site.Once, this fort was the main residence of great Mughal emperors.Three emperors of Mughal dynasty Akbar, Jahangir, and Shah Jahan built this massive fort during their reign.First palace to visit here is the Jahangiri Mahal built by Emperor Akbar for his son Salimor Jahangir.It is a two-storied architecture built in red sand stone and was once the main residence of Emperors Akbar and Jahangir.Moving from this palace come to see the Diwan-i-aam or the public Audience hall of Mughal emperors.This hallway is famous for beautifully designed pillars.Behind Diwan-i-aam, there is the main residence of Emperor Shah Jahan. The garden in front of this palace complex is known as anguri bag.Behind it, you can observe the residence of Emperor Shah Jahan and his two daughters Jahanaraand Roshanara.These buildings are built with white marble stones.Throughout the year, the fort experiences huge number of tourists.In the evening you can be entertained by a light and sound show here.Photography is prohibited there and so we are not able to show you that.You can also purchase the entry tickets of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort online.We will share the respective links in the description box.Next visit Fatehpur Sikri Fatehpur Sikri is a town in Agra districtof Indian state Uttar Pradesh.Great Mughal Emperor Akbar founded the city to celebrate his victory over Gujarat.The UNESCO World heritage site to visit here is the Fatehpur Sikri fort.Park your car just after entering through the outer gate of the city and from here avail government buses to go to the main fort entrance.The bus fare is Rs10 per person.The entry fee to Fatehpur Sikri fort is Rs. 50 for Indian tourists and Rs.610 for foreign tourists.No entry fee is needed for children up to 15 years.

Here, 1st you will see Diwan-i-am or the public audience hall of Emperor Akbar.Behind Diwan-i Am there is a big courtyard.In the middle of this courtyard stands the Diwan-i-Khas or the hall of private audience.The building is famous for its gorgeous central pillar.The pillar has a square base and octagonal shaft.On the left of Diwan-i-Khas stands the treasury building of Emperor Akbar.Behind it is Anup Talao.It is a tank in front of the khwabgah or the Emperor’s residence.The tank is made up of red sandstone.In front of Anup Talao, there is Panch Mahal built by Akbar.The palace was just outside the harem and was a summer retreat for royal family.Going from bottom to top each floor of this building is smaller than the other.Beside Panch Mahal, there is Khas Mahal or the Emperor’s private palace which is interconnectedto the Ladies harem.At the centre of the ladies harem there is the palace of Jodhabai, the Hindu Rajput wifeof Emperor Akbar.The palace is built around a courtyard.Surrounding the courtyard, there are the summer and winter Palaces of Jodhabai and a templewhere she used to worship God.Both the palaces are decorated with intricate Jali work.On one side of Jodhabai’s Palace, you can see the horse stable.At the end of this stable, there is Birbal’s Palace.Birbal’s palace is an example of gorgeous Mughal and Persian architecture and is oftwo stories.From the back of the harem complex, you can clearly see the fort entrance.Now this fort experiences thousands of visitors every day.Where to Stay Agra is a place where you don’t need to think about a hotel or resort.There are numerous hotels and resorts of different budget range are available all over the city.
